Secretary General praises Luxembourg for its contributions to the Alliance

Visiting Luxembourg today (25 June 2018), NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg praised the Grand Duchy for its political, military and financial commitment to the Alliance.
Mr. Stoltenberg met with Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and members of his government to discuss the upcoming NATO Summit and the importance of continuing efforts towards fairer burden-sharing within the alliance.
He highlighted Luxembourg's role as a staunch Ally since the birth of NATO. The country has made important contributions to KFOR in Kosovo, NATO's engagement in Afghanistan and the enhanced Forward Presence in Lithuania. In addition, the country has made important investments in high-tech capabilities, such as satellite communications, that benefit NATO.
One of Luxembourg's contributions to the Alliance is hosting the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) in Capellen. The Secretary General visited the agency, which today is celebrating both its 60th anniversary and 50 years since it moved to Luxembourg. The NSPA supports NATO operations and missions through base support, infrastructure and other logistics services to troops. The agency helps NATO and Allies with the acquisition of major new capabilities and as such, it plays a critical role in NATO's ongoing evolution.
