Title
Enhancing Women's Roles in International Countering Violent Extremism Efforts
Mechanism
Advanced Research Workshop
Dates
19 - 21 March 2018
Location
Madrid, Spain
Description
Hedayah and the Fundación para el Análisis y los Estudios Sociales (Foundation for the Analysis and Social Studies, FAES) propose an Advanced Research Workshop (ARW) on the roles of women in international efforts to prevent and counter violent extremism. The workshop will build on the good practices and recommendations developed out of a Hedayah policy brief in support of the Madrid +10 Global Policy Dialogue to Stop Violent Extremism initiative by the Club de Madrid, and a recent publication by Hedayah and the Global Center on Cooperative Security. The ARW will also build on Hedayah's experience designing and implementing National CVE Strategies and National Action Plans. NATO countries and NATO partners will be a priority for the workshop attendees, with a special focus on NATO countries & partners in North Africa (e.g. Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia), given the current and emerging threats.
