Members of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly visited NATO Headquarters on Monday (19 February 2018) for an exchange of views with the NATO Secretary General and the North Atlantic Council.

The meeting focused on preparations for the NATO Summit in July, including enhancing deterrence and defence, stepping up efforts to project stability beyond our borders, and modernising and adapting the Alliance to meet new challenges. The discussion was also an opportunity to address burden-sharing, including defence spending. NATO-EU cooperation was also an important topic.

During the meeting, the NATO Secretary General said that engagement with the NATO Parliamentary Assembly is vital for a clear understanding of what is important for the Alliance.
