Description
The aim of the ATC is to go in-depth into the EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard providing specific examples on its implementation to Radiation Protection laboratories, namely, metrology of ionizing radiation, individual monitoring for external exposure for the assessment of Hp(d) and radio-analytical techniques for environmental monitoring. The experience attained by Portugal's IST-LPRS in this field will be described. The ATC will enhance the technical competence of staff by improving procedures and adapting work instructions, technical procedures, quality records, etc for the calibration of instruments for radiation detection and measurement, as well as for the identification of radioisotopes and quantification of their respective activity.
