On 17-20 September, the NATO-Kuwait ICI Regional Center began its activities in Kuwait City, with the organisation of a "NATO Week" focusing on cooperation in: NATO political and military issues, the NATO Science for Peace Programme and Security (SPS) Programme, cyber defence, chemical biological radiological and nuclear consequence management, critical infrastructure and energy security, maritime security, crisis management and civil preparedness.

Representatives from NATO's Political Affairs and Security Policy Division‎, Emerging Security Challenges Division, the Operations Division, the International Military Staff, the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, Joint Force Command Naples and representatives of Kuwait's National Security Bureau, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of the Interior, National Guard Ministry of Foreign Affairs and from academic and private institutions, exchanged experiences and knowledge on a wide range of topics. 

Activities at the Center began with the NATO Week ‎and include activities planned at present until March 2018.

NATO and Kuwait representatives also held expert level meetings aimed at the renewal of the Individual Partnership and Cooperation Programme agreed between NATO and Kuwait in 2014.
