NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg welcomed Tunisian Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui to NATO Headquarters on Tuesday (9 May 2017) for talks on regional security and the partnership between the Alliance and Tunisia.

The Secretary General and Minister Jhinaoui discussed the strong partnership between NATO and Tunisia, and agreed on the importance of regular political dialogue and practical cooperation. Mr. Stoltenberg highlighted that the Alliance is committed to strengthening its cooperation with Tunisia, including in the fight against terrorism. NATO has provided support for the training of Tunisian Special Operations Forces and is also providing advice to the Tunisian authorities on the development of a Tunisian Intelligence Fusion Centre
