NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg spoke with incoming UN Secretary-General António Guterres on Friday (21 October 2016). He congratulated Mr. Guterres on his appointment and said he looked forward to working together to deepen cooperation between NATO and the UN.
The Alliance is committed to working closely with the UN to tackle global security challenges. Today, NATO-UN dialogue and cooperation encompasses a broad range of issues: from women, peace and security, and the protection of civilians, to support for UN peacekeeping efforts.
