Deputy Secretary General Vershbow met with Mr. Enver Hoxhaj at NATO Headquarters on Monday (12. September 2016) and stressed the Alliance’s commitment to long-term stability in Kosovo and to the Alliance-led KFOR operation. He said that KFOR will continue to contribute to a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement in Kosovo, working in close cooperation with the Kosovo authorities and with the EU.

Mr. Vershbow said that NATO will continue to support the development of the security organisations in Kosovo and welcomed the increased professionalism shown by the Kosovo Police. He stressed that the Alliance welcomes Kosovo’s aspirations to improve its ability to ensure safety and security for all its inhabitants, as well as to contribute to security in the Western Balkans.
