A unique compendium of actions, statistics, policies and initiatives to integrate gender perspectives in the armed forces across NATO and partner nations was published on 7 March 2016, symbolically the day before the International Women’s Day.
This first-ever summary was released by the Office of the Gender Advisor in the International Military Staff at NATO Headquarters. It is based on individual national reports for 2014.
The summary has two parts:
Since 1998, the NCGP has requested annual national reports from all NATO member nations, which are submitted to the IMS GENAD office and published on its webpage.
For the first time in 2015, all NATO member states and 27 partner countries were asked to provide an online report in the same format to provide higher quality data for analysis and further research, as well as to improve transparency.
This followed up on recommendations generated by the “UNSCR 1325 Reload” report –a project sponsored by the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme – which was presented at the NCGP conference in 2015.
