Continued focus on financial transparency

At the first meeting of the newly appointed Chair of the International Board of Auditors for NATO (IBAN), Ms Lyn Sachs, with Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, discussions focused on NATO’s transparency and accountability initiatives.
At the meeting on 16 September 2015, NATO budgets, financial regulations and IBAN audit reports were discussed. Ms Sachs and Mr Stoltenberg also spoke about the IBAN’s 2014 Annual Activities Report, published in May 2015. This report is a compilation of IBAN activities, scope and summaries of audits.
The Chair of the Board is appointed on a rotational basis every two years in closed session, by all IBAN Board Members. Ms Lyn Sachs was appointed on 1 August 2015. Of Canadian citizenship, she has a broad experience in the auditing field. Previously, she was Assistant Auditor General at the Office of the Auditor General Office of Canada.
