Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has called for the full implementation of the Minsk agreements in Ukraine. Mr. Stoltenberg made his comments at the start of a meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers in Antalya, Turkey on Wednesday (13 May 2015).

“The main message is that the Minsk agreements have to be implemented in full,” the Secretary General said.  “The cease-fire has to be respected; heavy weapons have to be withdrawn. And we call on Russia to stop supporting the separatists and to withdraw all its forces from Eastern Ukraine.” Mr. Stoltenberg stressed that “actions speak louder than words,” adding “now is the time to act”.

Over the next two days, NATO Foreign Ministers will review new security challenges to the east and south, and will meet with their counterparts from Afghanistan and Ukraine, as well as a range of other partners.
