NATO Deputy Secretary General Alexander Vershbow met Boro Vučinić, Director of the Montenegrin National Security Agency, at NATO Headquarters on Tuesday (18 November). Ambassador Vershbow welcomed the progress made in reforming the Agency as well as in strengthening its relations with NATO and the Allies.

At the Wales Summit, in recognition of Montenegro's progress towards NATO membership, the Alliance agreed to open intensified and focused talks with Montenegro. The 18 November meeting took place in this context, discussing the steps taken by Montenegro to address one of its remaining challenges, the completion of security sector reform.
