NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the Chairman of the Military Committee and Ambassadors from the North Atlantic Council were in Tallinn on Friday (9 May 2014) to show Alliance solidarity, and discuss ways to further enhance the Alliance’s collective defence and cyber security.
The President of Estonia Toomas Ilves addressed the meeting, which is part of preparations for the NATO Summit in Wales this September.
The NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen delivered a keynote speech at Tallinn University titled "Defending Allies, Sharing Responsibility, Upholding Values." He stressed the Alliance’s strong commitment to collective defence and to the protection of Estonia and the Baltic States. He concluded his visit to Estonia with a visit to the Ämari air base to observe a training exercise and meet NATO forces carrying out Baltic Air Policing duties.
