On 3 December 2013, the Danish Government agreed to extend General Knud Bartels as Chairman of the NATO Military Committee until mid-2015.
During discussions at the 2013 Military Committee Conference in Budapest (13-15 September), NATO Chiefs of Defence unanimously requested General Bartels to consider a six-month extension as Chairman of the Military Committee. General Bartels acknowledged the request and informed that he would accept such an extension subject to approval by the Danish Government.
Last week, the Danish Government agreed to extend General Bartels and his staff until mid-2015.
