On 26 November 2012, the NATO Political Affairs and Security Policy Division organised a visit to NATO Headquarters for a group of from the University of Jordan, who were visiting Brussels as part of NATO’s public diplomacy activities under Mediterranean Dialogue (MD).
Topics discussed included NATO’s Outreach to the Middle East and the Mediterranean Region; NATO’s new Strategic Concept and and NATO’s Cooperation with Jordan; NATO’s military cooperation in the framework of the Mediterranean Dialogue (MD); NATO-Russia relations, NATO’s operations; and emerging security challenges.
The group met with Mr. Nicola de Santis, Head, Middle East and North Africa Section, Political Affairs and Security Policy Division, with Dr. Rolf Schwarz, Political Officer from the Middle East and North Africa Section in NATO’s Political Affairs and Security Policy Division, with Lieutenant-Colonel Henri Lambaré, Staff Officer, Cooperation and Regional Security Division, International Military Staff, with Dr. Petr Lunak, Deputy Head, Engagement Section, Public Diplomacy Division, with Mr. Mihai Carp, Deputy Head, Operations Section A, Operations Division, and with Mr. Michael Rühle, Head, Energy Security Section, Emerging Security Challenges Division.
