Brussels – Today, General Knud Bartels, Chairman of NATO’s Military Committee, welcomed Lt.Gen Babacar Gaye, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General and Military Advisor, who updated the Committee on current UN operations and future military challenges.
Lt.Gen Babacar Gaye’s meeting with NATO’s highest military authority is part of a continuous effort to develop military cooperation, in the framework of the UN-NATO Declaration of September 2008. Delivering his closing remarks, Gen. Knud Bartels thanked Lt.Gen Gaye for his comprehensive briefing and noted that, “Today’s meeting provided a valuable opportunity to exchange views on force generation, capability development, protection of civilians and inter-mission cooperation. I find these exchanges extremely useful and I hope we can continue to expand our military cooperation.”
