On 12 March 2012, NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen addressed the chairpersons of the foreign affairs committees of the European Union member’s states parliaments at a conference in Copenhagen.
In his speech, the Secretary General called for closer consultation and cooperation between NATO and the European Union to avoid duplication of efforts and to achieve a more effective use of resources in times of economic austerity.
