Addressing a group of young leaders from Croatia and the Western Balkans, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy Ambassador Kolinda Grabar highlighted the Alliance’s key themes in preparation for the Chicago Summit in May of next year.
"As we look towards the complex challenges of the twenty-first century, NATO must continue to adapt," noted Ambassador Grabar while speaking at the 4th International Scientific Conference. The gathering was organised by the Atlantic Council of Croatia and the Hanns Seidel Foundation in Croatia on August 30.
“Next year’s Chicago Summit will show that – through its commitments, its capabilities and its connectivity – the Alliance will continue to serve as a real anchor of stability not only for its member nations, but for nations well beyond our borders,” the Ambassador said.
The conference took place on the Croatian island of Šipan, bringing together 30 young leaders from academia, politics, civil and diplomatic service, and media from Croatia and the Western Balkans. The participants had the opportunity to engage directly with senior officials from NATO and from countries in the region. It also served as an opportunity to build their network among like-minded people from neighbouring nations.
