On 28 March, a group of parliamentarians from the Latvian Parliament visited NATO Headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.

The group included the chairmen of the National Security, Foreign Affairs, Budget and Finance and Defence, Internal Affairs and Corruption Prevention Committees. They met with NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen and other NATO officials.

Discussions focused on the political agenda after the NATO Summit in Lisbon last November, as well as the recent decision by Allies to take over command and control of all aspects of the current international military operation in Libya.

This was the first visit by Latvian parliamentarians following the country’s 2010 parliamentary election.
