On 2 February 2011, the NATO Political Affairs and Security Policy Division organised a visit to NATO of senior journalists from Morocco.
The Moroccan journalists had the opportunity to meet with NATO Secretary General, H.E.Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen; the Chairman of the North Atlantic Military Committee; Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola; NATO Assistant Secretary General for Defense Policy and Planning, H.E.Mr. Hüsseyin Diriöz; the Permanent Representative of France on the North Atlantic Council, H.E. Ambassador Pascale Andréani and the Permanent Representative of Italy on the North Atlantic Council, H.E. Ambassador Riccardo Sessa.
Topics discussed included NATO’s new partnership policy; NATO’s transformation and outreach to the Mediterranean and the Middle East region; its military cooperation under the Mediterranean Dialogue; its current operations; NATO-Russia relations; Defense Policy and Planning; NATO’s partnerships and the Individual Cooperation Programme; intelligence sharing and fight against terrorism.
