On 11 November 2010, the NATO Public Diplomacy Division organized a visit to NATO Headquarters of High Level Opinion Leaders from Morocco.

The Moroccan delegation had the opportunity to meet with NATO Deputy Secretary General H.E. Amb. Claudio Bisogniero; the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola, Permanent Representatives on the North Atlantic Council of France H.E. Amb. Pascale Andréani and Spain, H.E. Amb. Carlos Miranda.

During their visit at NATO Headquarters the Moroccan Opinion Leaders were also briefed by Assistant Secretary General for Operations Mr. Martin Howard CB; Assistant Secretary General for Emerging Security Challenges H.E. Amb. Gabor Iklody; Assistant Secretary General for Defense Policy and Planning, H.E. Amb. Hüseyin Diriöz, the Head of the MD and ICI Countries Section, Mr. Nicola de Santis and the Head of the Science for Peace and Security Section, Dr. Deniz Yüksel-Beten.

The topics discussed during the visit included: NATO’s transformation and outreach to the Mediterranean and the Middle East region; NATO’s military cooperation under the Mediterranean Dialogue; NATO’s New Strategic Concept, Missile Defense, Science for Peace and Security and NATO’s current Operations.
