The President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev visited NATO's Headquarters on Monday, 25 October and met with Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen. They discussed the growing bilateral cooperation between NATO and Kazakhstan, in particular in the defence reform area.
The Secretary General thanked President Nazarbayev for his country’s support for the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) in Afghanistan. Finally, the Secretary General congratulated the President for his tenure as Chairman-in-Office of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).
