A Trainer Cargo Aircraft from the NATO Airborne Early Warning and Control Force (AWACS) arrived in Islamabad on Thursday, 9 September with around 7 tons worth of generators, tents, boats, food and clothing donated by a non-governmental organization.
The same day, a Boeing 747 delivered 100.000 mosquito nets at Islamabad airport to support of the victims of Pakistan's flood disaster. In total, the NATO-chartered aircraft transported 48 tons of goods that were previously stocked in Dubai and donated by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
On Wednesday, 8 September, a C 135 departing from Paris delivered 12 tons of blankets and tents donated by the French government.
Finally, earlier this week on Monday, 6 September, an Ilyushin II-76 arrived in Karachi with three field hospitals donated by Denmark. The goods were transported from Karup in Denmark and comprised 36 tons in total.
The North Atlantic Council decided in August to provide airlift and sealift assistance for the delivery of donations by nations and humanitarian relief organizations, in response to a request by the Government of Pakistan.
