On 7 July 2010, the NATO Public Diplomacy Division organised a visit to NATO Headquarters for journalists from Mauritania.
Topics discussed included NATO’s transformation and outreach to the Mediterranean region and the Middle East; military cooperation under the Mediterranean Dialogue; current operations; and relations with Russia.
The delegation met, among other high level IS and IMS officials, with the Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy Mr. Jean-François Bureau, and NATO Spokesman, Mr. James Appathurai.
The distinguished participants also had discussions with H.E. Mr. Stefano Stefanini, Permanent Representative of Italy on the North Atlantic Council, H.E. Mrs. Pascale Andréani, Permanent Representative of France on the North Atlantic Council and H.E.Mr. Haydar Berk, Permanent Representative of Turkey on the North Atlantic Council
