On 7-8 June 2010, the NATO Public Diplomacy Division organised a visit to NATO Headquarters of High-Level Officials from Morocco.

Topics discussed included NATO’s transformation and outreach to the Mediterranean and the Middle East region; its military cooperation under the Mediterranean Dialogue; its current military operations; scientific cooperation in NATO and in partner countries; NATO’s partnerships and the Individual Cooperation Programme; transformation of Armed Forces; Operational Capabilities Concept; intelligence sharing and fight against terrorism; and civil emergency planning.

The Moroccan officials met, among others, with NATO Deputy Secretary General, H.E. Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero; the Chairman of the North Atlantic Military Committee; Admiral Giampaolo Di Paola; NATO Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy, Mr. Jean-François Bureau; and the Permanent Representative of Spain to the North Atlantic Council H.E. Ambassador Carlos Miranda.
