NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen paid his first visit to Croatia in his current capacity on 29 and 30 April 2010.

He met with President Ivo Josipovic, Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor, as well as Foreign and Defence Ministers Gordan Jandrokovic and Branko Vukelic, and congratulated them on a highly succesful first year for Croatia in NATO.

In that regard, the Secretary General thanked the Croation Government for its strong contribution to the mission in Afghanistan, including the extra troops which were confirmed during the visit.

They discussed the main points that could appear in the Alliance’s new Strategic Concept. Finally, they welcomed recent progress in promoting stability in the Western Balkans, including the entry of Bosnia and Herzegovina into NATO’s Membership Action Plan (MAP).
