The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, Kanat Saudabayev, visited the NATO Headquarters and met with the Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen. During their discussion, they talked about Kazakhstan’s priorities for 2010 as the country holding the Chairmanship of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe.

They also discussed the bilateral cooperation between NATO and Kazakhstan in the framework of the IPAP – the Individual Partnership Action Plan.

The Secretary General  thanked Minister Saudabayev for the finalization of the railroad transit agreement that will allow transit shipments of non-lethal goods in support of the NATO-led ISAF operation in Afghanistan. With this agreement, the northern line of communication to Afghanistan became operational.
