On 19-20 November 2009, the NATO Public Diplomacy Division organized a visit to NATO Headquarters of high level media representatives from Jordan, on the occasion of the signature of the new NATO-Jordan Trust Fund.

In addition to attending the signing ceremony of the Trust Fund Executive Agent Agreement, the delegation met with NATO Deputy Secretary General Amb. Claudio Bisogniero and other high level NATO officials.

Participants also met with Amb. Carlos Miranda, Permanent Representative of Spain to the North Atlantic Council, who acts as NATO’s contact point ambassador for Jordan, and with Amb. Stewart Eldon, Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the North AtlanticCouncil.

Topics discussed included the Mediterranean Dialogue and NATO-Jordan cooperation, the Alliance’s transformation and the new strategic concept, the current NATO political agenda, NATO’s operation in Afghanistan, and NATO’s fight against terrorism.
