On 28 September, 13 students who attended the NATO Winter Academy in Prague last February came to NATO Headquarters to discuss international security issues, both in general and related to NATO in particular. The students, who came from Russia, Georgia and Ukraine, were briefed on issues ranging from NATO's current agenda to its relations with Russia and Partner countries.
The students had the opportunity to talk with members of NATO’s International Staff, and met with Lithuania’s Permanent Representative to NATO, Ambassador Linas Linkevicius, Germany’s Deputy Permanent Representative, Dirk Brengelmann, and the Russian Federation’s Deputy Permanent Representative, Nikolay Korchunov.
In February, some 50 students from Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, the Czech Republic and Armenia attended the 11th Winter Academy organized by the Moscow-based Centre for European Security and the NATO Information Office in Russia.
The next winter Academy will be held in Russia early next year.
