The NATO Secretary General met in Sarajevo on 16 July with the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the Chairman of the Council of Ministers Nikola Spiric, with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sven Alkalaj and with leaders of political parties.

They discussed the reform progress in the country in the context of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

"I consider the future of this country to be in Euro-Atlantic structures. But coming closer to NATO means the willingness to compromise and to take courageous decisions for the common good", the Secretary General said. "I hope we will see more of that here".

The Secretary-General also met with the High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Valentin Inzko.
