The NATO Secretary General visited Sofia on 23 April for discussions on the follow up of the decisions taken at the Alliance's Summit meeting earlier this month.

The Secretary General  met with President Georgi Parvanov, with Prime Minister Sergei Stanishev, with Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivailo Kalfin and  with Minister of Defence Nickolay Tsonev. During the visit, the Secretay General was also awarded the Stara Planina Order by the President of Bulgaria.
