The Institute of Strategic Studies, in co-operation with NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division, hosted a Forum on Euroatlantic Security entitled, “NATO before the Jubilee Summit – Does the Alliance Need a New Strategic Concept?” Discussions were held on the margins of the informal meeting of NATO Defence Ministers, held in the ancient city of Cracow, Poland on 19-20 February.

The Forum gathered representatives of leading think-tanks from many NATO and Partner nations to discuss such topics as the place of NATO in the international security system, the transatlatic relationship, the open door policy and the future of NATO missions.

NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer delivered a keynote address at the conference. High-ranking decision-makers also participated in the discussions.
