NATO to launch discussion series “60/20 at Lunchtime”

On 24 February, NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division will launch a series of luncheon discussions entitled “60/20 at Lunchtime” that will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Washington Treaty’s signing and the 20th anniversary of the Cold War’s end.
Held throughout 2009, the luncheon series will bring together security experts from leading Brussels think-tanks to consider NATO’s future. Issues to be discussed will include the Alliance’s role in energy security, the state of transatlantic relations, NATO-EU cooperation, and the Alliance’s engagement in Afghanistan. Speakers, to be announced, will include top policymakers and opinion-formers.
