On 29-30 January, the Szeged Centre for Security Policy – supported by the Hungarian Ministry for Foreign Affairs and NATO Public Diplomacy Division – organized the first event to commemorate the tenth anniversary of Hungary’s membership in NATO, along with the Alliance’s 60th Anniversary.

Entitled “United in serving peace and security”, the conference gathered political and economic leaders from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Hungary, Ukraine and Serbia; as well as security experts and top industry executives. Participants discussed issues related to the interdependence between security and economic development.

In her keynote speech, Mrs. Kinga Goncz, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary, expressed her conviction that - from the point of view of identity, security interests and values - Hungary had reached its goal by becoming a member of NATO.
