On 7 November 2008 the NATO Public Diplomacy Division organised a visit to NATO Headquarters of journalists from the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).

During the visit, the delegation met with Major General George Lebel, Assistant Director for Cooperation and Regional Security in NATO’s International Military Staff, with Mr. Nicola de Santis, Head, MD and ICI Countries Section in NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division, with Mr. Robert Pszczel, Acting Deputy Spokesman, Press and Media Section, Public Diplomacy Division, with Brigadier Dusan Lupuljev from NATO’s Defence Policy Planning Division, and with the Head of the Euro-Atlantic Disaster Response Coordination Center (EADRCC) Mr. Gunther Bretschneider.

Topics discussed included NATO’s transformation and outreach to the Mediterranean and the broader Middle East region, NATO’s relations with Russia, NATO’s military cooperation under the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI), the role of Civil Emergency Planning for responses to man made and natural disasters, contemporary radiological threats to our society and NATO's crisis response with a focus on radiation protection.
