On 16-18 September 2008, the NATO Standardization Conference was held in the United States (USA) at the National Conference Center in Lansdowne, Virginia. This two and a half–day conference was sponsored by the United States Department of Defense, NATO Standardization Agency, and Allied Command Transformation (ACT). The event brought together national delegates and experts from NATO and Partner countries.

The conference theme “Interoperability through Standardization” reflects the close linkage between standardization and interoperability, which helps to support multinational force operations.

The content of the conference targets the USA Department of Defense and Ministry of Defense military, civilian and contractor personnel from NATO member nations and Partnership for Peace countries.
