On Tuesday the NATO Secretary General and the Permanent Representatives of the North Atlantic Council visited the city of Gori, in order to receive first hand information about the impact of the August conflict and look at some of the challenges ahead for Georgia.

They visited the premises of the Georgian First Infantry Brigade, where facilities were damaged during the recent conflict.

Thereafter, the NATO Secretary General and the Permanent Representatives met internally displaced people in a camp run by the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR), in which currently about 2.2OO refugees from the recent conflict have found shelter.
