On 6 June 2008, the NATO Public Diplomacy Division organised a historic visit to NATO HQ of high-level members of the Mauritanian Parliament.
Briefings delivered by NATO officials covered the Mediterranean Dialogue (MD) and the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI), NATO’s fight against terrorism, military cooperation under the Mediterranean Dialogue and defence transformation.
The delegation also received briefings from the NATO Deputy Secretary General H.E. Amb. Claudio Bisogniero and the Permanent Representative of France on the North Atlantic Council H.E. Mr. Richard Duqué.
