On 29 May 2008, the NATO Public Diplomacy Division organised a visit to NATO HQ of high-level members of the Moroccan Parliament.
The delegation was led by the Vice President of the Chamber of Representatives, Mr. Mohammed Benattia.
Briefings delivered by NATO officials covered the Mediterranean Dialogue (MD) and the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI), NATO’s fight against terrorism, NATO’s agenda after the Bucharest Summit.
The delegation also received briefings from the NATO Deputy Secretary General H.E. Amb. Claudio Bisogniero, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy Jean-François Bureau, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Defence Policy and Planning, and the Deputy Permanent Representative of Turkey on the North Atlantic Council H.E. Mr. Alper Coçkun.
A working lunch was hosted by H.E. Mr. Robert F. Simmons, Jr., Deputy Assistant Secretary General for Security Cooperation and Partnership, Political Affairs and Security Policy Division.
