The NATO Secretary General visited Berlin and met with Chancellor Angela Merkel and with Minister of Defence Franz Josef Jung, in order to discuss preparations for the NATO Bucharest Summit.
During his visit to Berlin, the Secretary General also addressed the 41st Commanders’ Conference (41. Kommandeurtagung) of the German armed forces.
The Secretary General also had a meeting with members of the Foreign Affairs and Defence Committees of the German parliament.
