On the margins of the NATO Defence Ministers meeting in Vilnius Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer opened on 7th of February an art exhibition.

This exhibition is part of the Art Workshop, which brought together professional and amateur Lithuanian artists. They were asked to express their vision of NATO in different forms of visual arts. Altogether 14 artistic visions were selected to form the exhibit "co-OPERATION".

Following the Ministerial meeting this exhibition will be open to the general public at the Lithuanian National Library in Vilnius.

The project has been developed by two Lithuanian NGOs, the Youth Centre Babilonas (Babilon) and the Association Ideju Upe (the River of Ideas) in cooperation with the NATO Public Diplomacy Division and the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence.

In parallel, the Institute of Democratic Politics invited Lithuanian opinion leaders to a public debate on NATO values in the current international security context and the future of the Alliance.

The first panel of the debate on "NATO values" will be broadcast by Lithuanian news portal Delfi. NATO Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy Jean Francois Bureau together with the Dutch, Lithuanian and Spanish Permanent Representatives to the North Atlantic Council (NAC) were scheduled to participate.
