On 4-5 December 2007 the NATO Public Diplomacy Division organised a two-day press tour at NATO Headquarters for senior media representatives from Mediterranean Dialogue and Istanbul Cooperation Initiative countries, as well as, Oman and Saudi Arabia.

During the visit at the NATO Headquarters these journalists were briefed by the NATO Deputy Secretary General, H.E. Claudio Bisogniero, the NATO Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy, Mr. Jean-François Bureau, the NATO Spokesman, Mr. James Appathurai, H.E. Ambassador Pablo Benavides Orgaz, the Permanent Representative of Spain to the North Atlantic Council, H.E. Ambassador Stewart Eldon, the Permanent Representative of the United Kingdom to the North Atlantic Council and by other NATO official.

The topics covered during the briefings included the agenda of the NATO Ministerial meetings, the Mediterranean Dialogue and Istanbul Cooperation Initiative, NATO’s relations with Russia and Ukraine, NATO’s military operations, and NATO’s role in security and stabilisation, from the Balkans to Afghanistan.

The journalists covered the meetings of the Foreign Ministers of NATO, Mediterranean Dialogue and Partner countries, which took place at NATO Headquarters on 7 December.
