On 5 November the NATO Public Diplomacy Division organised a visit to NATO HQ of high-level parliamentarians from the House of Deputies and from the Shura Council of the Kingdom of Bahrain.

During the visit, the delegation met with NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee Gen. Raymond Henault, the Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy Jean-François Bureau, the Assistant Secretary General for Defence Planning and Policy Jiří Šedivý and other high-level NATO officials.

Topics discussed included current political issues, the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative and NATO's outreach to the Mediterranean and the broader Middle East region, NATO operations, and the practical cooperation under NATO's partnerships.
