NATO PfP Trust Fund project in Bosnia and Herzegovina

A NATO PfP Trust Fund project in Bosnia and Herzegovina is assisting more than 3000 former defence personnel in finding new jobs in many sectors, including agriculture and business development.
On 24-25 October, an expert team carried out visits to Bosnia and Herzegovina to meet beneficiaries of the project which provides assistance to military and civilian personnel made redundant in 2004, 2006 and 2007 as a result of defence reforms.
The team was made up of representatives from the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Croatia, the three countries who are the Lead Nations for the project and NATO’s Political Affairs and Security Policy Division.
The Delegation was led by the Ambassador of the Kingdom of The Netherlands to BiH, Karel Vosskuehler, the Ambassador of the United Kingdom, Matthew Rycroft, and the Deputy Head of the Croatian Mission, Ms. Dunja Jevak.
The team visited to the International Organization for Migration (IOM) field offices in Rajlovac, Banja Luka and Mostar, where they met beneficiaries of the Trust Fund project.
The Executing Agent, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) was represented by their Chief of Mission, Regina Boucault.
In addition to the Lead Nations’ support, contributions to the project have been donated by Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, the Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and Turkey. Confirmed donations currently amount to 5.8 million euros.
