On 21 October the Deputy Secretary General of NATO, Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero paid an official visit to Jordan and met with Dr. Barouf Al-Bakhet' Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Jordan, with Mr. Abdel Ilah Al-Khateeb, Foreign Minister of Jordan and with Mr. Taher Al Masri, Deputy Speaker of the Senate.

Jordan is the first country member of the Mediterranean Dialogue (MD) visited by Ambassador Bisogniero shortly after taking up the post of Deputy Secretary General of NATO.

Talks in Amman focused on NATO-Jordan relations in the framework of the Mediterranean Dialogue and on the way forward in the implementation of the practical cooperation of the more ambitious and expanded framework for the MD decided at the Istanbul Summit.
