On 9 January, the Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy, Ambassador Martin Erdmann, met at NATO HQ in Brussels with the Chinese Director General for European Affairs, Mr. Li Ruiyu.

The two officials exchanged views on issues of common interest for NATO and China. The meeting was a further step in the informal dialogue between the Alliance and China which started in October 2002.
