Secretary General welcomes Polish Afghanistan offer

The Secretary General of NATO, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, today welcomed the Polish offer to increase its troop levels in Afghanistan in the coming months.
This will represent a significant increase on the current levels of Polish forces in the country.
While the details of how and where the extra troops will be used are to be determined, it is clear that this contribution will add to the overall capability and flexibility available to the force commander when the troops arrive.
