Algerian parliamentarians visit NATO HQ

Members of the National Popular Assembly and the Senate of Algeria visited NATO Headquarters on 18 May and met with NATO Secretary General, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.
During the visit, the parliamentarians from Algeria also met with NATO’s Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy, Mr. Jean Fournet, and were briefed by other Alliance officials on current NATO policies and missions, as well as on the enhanced Mediterranean Dialogue and the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative, launched at the 2004 Istanbul Summit.
