On 5 February, helicopters from the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF), which were assisting in the search and rescue of the missing Kam Air Boeing 737, found the wreckage.

KABUL, Afghanistan -- ISAF-Dutch AH-64 Apache helicopters that were searching for the missing Kam Air Boeing 737 have found the wreckage at 1:37 p.m. today. The wreckage was spotted in the Chaperi Ghar area approximately 30 kms east south/east of Kabul City.

The tail of the aircraft was spotted along with other debris. The crash site is 3300 meters above sea level.

ISAF has airlifted specialist mountain rescue teams into the site to secure the area. Further rescue and recovery operations at the crash site will be coordinated closely with Afghan Government authorities.
