A live NATO air exercise is currently taking place over Turkey, involving over 100 combat and support aircraft and forces from 18 NATO countries.
A live NATO air exercise is currently taking place over Turkey, involving over 100 combat and support aircraft and forces from 18 NATO countries.
This is an annual exercise, which this year is based on a scenario that includes incidents that could threaten NATO's southern region. Participants are training tactics and procedures for the use of air power so as to increase proficiency and levels of standardisation for different air operations.
The exercise is taking place from 4 to 16 September. It is hosted by Turkey and is scheduled and conducted by the Commander, Allied Air Forces South.
